They have a single-curve design which may not be as comfortable for all users as their multi-curve model (1155mc) which is what I prefer and currently run in my plate carrier.

The biggest downside is that they come in at 8 pounds per plate and that’s heavy. That is pretty standard for affordable armor at this price point though.

RMA has, not only one, but TWO answers for that and it’s the 1192 and 1165 Lightweight Level IV plates which come in at just under 6lbs (1192) and just under 7lbs (1165). Note that the price jumps significantly higher the lighter you go but this is huge for this level of protection.
